EDITOR’S NOTE: This entry is mostly for me. I need to jot this down somewhere.
A thought during my last Monday night as a Pleasantville resident:
Lately, my life is cleanup, packing and selling stuff on Craigslist. It seems like this is all I do. This has sucked because I’m a freaking pack rat. I save everything. I can’t believe the stuff I still have. My family members will be surprised to hear that today I found the program from my Lolo and Lola’s 60th wedding anniversary party (”Be proud”, B-Rock!). It was held on July 19, 1997 (the same day I close).
Today, being a pack rat paid off.
I was going through one of those many boxes I haven’t opened since I moved here and I found some toll receipts. These receipts were from July 10th, 1998. What’s the big deal, you ask? 7/10/1998 was the day I moved back to Massachusetts from Ohio. Being the pathetic sap that I am, I teared up when I realized why I saved these twelve year old, tiny slips of paper.
By the time August 1st rolls around, I will have had three interstate moves in my life. Interestingly enough, all three times occured in July. July is my interstate moving month.
Just for posterity:
July 5, 1991 – Moved from Pleasantville to Ohio
July 10, 1998 – Moved from Ohio back to Massachusetts
July 25, 2010 – Moving from Pleasantville to San Francisco
Note that they are all in sequential order in July. I guess when I move back (and I am coming back, mark my words), it will have to be sometime between July 26th and July 31st.
Good to know.
